James B. Rhoades, 89, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 at a local hospital.
James was born May 28, 1923 in Maryville, MO to Blaine and Mildred Rhoades. He graduated from Maryville High school and was a WWII Veteran serving in the Marine Corps. James retired from J.G. Masonry in Kansas City, KS and a lifetime member of Bricklayers Allied Craft workers Local 15. He enjoyed watching his son bowl, was an avid Chiefs fan, and was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding James in death were his parents; wife, Wanda; daughter, Tegwin and his daughter in law Lisa Rhoades' mother, Phyllis Fountain.
He is survived by one son, Blaine Rhoades, and wife Lisa, St. Joseph; and extended family members, Diane Anderson and companion John Curtis, Carole Leslie, Aaron Anderson and wife Shelly, Gabrielle Anderson, Caleb Farmer and three great nephews, Bryce Miller, Zach and Isaac Anderson.
Services 10:00 a.m. Monday at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home with interment in Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville, MO. Visitation will be after 12:00 noon Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
