Alvie Raymond "Ray" Keith Jr., 73, of St. Joseph passed away Friday June 8, 2012 at his residence.
Ray was born May 20, 1939 to Alvie Raymond Sr. and Nellie Mae (Davis) Keith in St. Joseph, where he resided most of his life. He graduated from Benton High School in 1957 and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Ray also served in the National Guard and the Secret Service. On April 18, 1964 he married Nancy Montgomery in Cameron MO; she preceded him in death in 1999. Ray was a Christian. He was a retired welder. His hobbies included welding, spending time outdoors, and collecting antiques.
Preceding Ray in death were his wife Nancy and father.
Surviving him is his mother, Nellie Mae Keith, of St. Joseph; one brother, Ronnie (Faye) Keith, of St. Joseph; two sisters, Shirlee (Alvin) Hyder, of Country Club Village and Cheryl Kay (Bob) Funk, of St. Joseph and several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home with interment following in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12:00 noon today, at the funeral home, where family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
